bulletImprove the speed of Web pages, video, and other net transfers in Windows 2000 and 9x - This obscure setting in windows 9x sets aside some of your RAM to buffer your network card, acting in some ways like a disk cache does.

        Windows 9x

Step one. find the IRQ setting or your NIC card

Set two. Edit a line into your System.ini file

Run Sysedit.exe and add this line to the [386enh] section

IRQ9=4096        replace 9 with your IRQ

This adds a 4 meg buffer for your NIC

Should see a 10%+ improvement in NIC performace

        Windows 2000

           Goto www.speedguide.net/cable_modems/cable_reg_win2k.shtml

Windows NT - tough luck - buffers are limited to 64k
