Web Changes

This is where we'll announce the most recent additions to our web site. If you've visited us before and want to know what's changed, take a look here first.

February 1, 2003 - increased out bandwidth 2x.

October 10, 2002 - anti spam mail is now active, this will cut down somewhat on spam, if you are getting mail for a known spam system out system will refuse the mail. Sorry but we need to manage our server traffic.

April 25, 2002 - Installed antivirus email scanner, messages will be automatically scanned and deleted.

January  5, 2002 - Relocated Winke.com to a new business location and onto a T1 connection for better response.

December 16, 2001 - Email now seems to be working, users do not personally know may need  to reestablish their account, no mail will be bounced for the next month to allow re-setup.

December 15, 2001 -  Winke.com suffered a catastrophic hard drive failure along with a failure to our raid subsystem. We have installed a new hard drive, motherboard, cpu and ddr ram along with a fresh install of all software.  All features are working after being down the past 8 hours except mail which will be down until sunday night.  All mail is being cached by our DNS server.

June 9, 2001 - Site will be down as power will off for repair/upgrade from 9:00am to 4:00pm - mail will be cached offsite so no mail will get lost

January 24, 2001 - Changeover to a new DNS Server, the old provider lost our records and we disappeared from the net for a few days.  Our new provider has DNS Servers in Canada, Texas, England so much more redundancy vs. the old server in Montana.

Back up Mail server installed, if we go down again mail will be cached for a week.

September 2000 - Changeover of Winke.com/net/org to new style and purpose.

August 2000 - Major revamping of all web sites with new individual domain names.

July 2000 - Upgraded hardware to 450 mhz system with 256meg of RAM, staying with 10gig hard drive as space is not an issue.

May 1997 - Web Server is up and we are on the web, name changed from Investment BBS to Winke.com

June 1993 - Investment Newsgroups added to BBS

September 1992 - Investment BBS in online and part of the FIDO network.
